inAsymmetrical dotticures are one of my all time favorite techniques and make an appearance on the blog and Instagram weekly. However, I always lean towards the same color combinations (namely purples and greens). For today’s polka dot prompt I pushed myself to try something new and guess, what?…I love it!
Base: Barry M Chai
Dots: Zoya Louise (brown), Pippa (yellow), Barry M Grapefruit (pink), OPI Pros & Bronze (glitter)

inI combined a couple of different prompts and created a twilight beach themed gradient. I generally opt for two color gradients but tried my hand at three. My nails are too short to evenly display all three colors but I think the asymmetry adds to the twilight effect nicely.
Gradient (from tip to cuticle): China Glaze In the Lime-light, Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot, American Apparel Neon Purple
Details: black acrylic paint

inYou’ve probably noticed the lack of traditional rainbows on my nails. I have nothing against the original spectrum of colors. I just don’t think true R-O-Y-G-B-I-V go together particularly well.
So, whenever there are rainbow prompts, I just choose another set of multi-colors. And what do I love more than neon?? Nothing!
I hope you like this super simple nail art look! I certainly do!
Base: Formula X Nails White Matter
Details: China Glaze UV Meant to Be (yellow), Color Club Wham! Pow! (orange), Warhol (bright pink), American Apparel Neon Purple (purple)

Once I get bitten by the watermarble bug I cannot help but do them over and over. For the sake of the 31-Day challenge I will consciously try not to do the same nail technique twice in a row but sometimes I just gotta give!
I cannot decide on this look. The marble came out well but the metallics are so different. The final look is absurd but cohesive.
I hope you like it!
Base: Chanel Peridot
Marble: Color Club On the Rocks, Wet n Wild Burgundy Frost, Zoya Goldie, Pipe Dream Polish Clearwater

I love a strong, simple black and white watermarble! It always looks classic without being overbearing. There is something to be said about these two strong opposite colors working so well together.
Base: SinfulColors Whiteboard
Marble: Wet n Wild Black Creme, Pipe Dream Polish Clearwater
Matte Glitter: Milani Sprinkles (no longer available)

inI do purple dotticures more than any other nail art look. I think I did one just a few weeks ago! I don’t know why I gravitate towards them but, I try to use different colors so it is not the exact same every single time!
The purple prompt of the 31 Day Challenge coincided with the first day of my old high school. Posts from my classmates popped up all over Instagram and Facebook and I felt nostalgic. Our school colors were purple and gold and I was on the purple team!! Perfect, right??
I went heavy on the purple for obvious reasons but injected a little pop of gold. Together these colors look pretty good but I have memories of gold actually being bright yellow. And, that and royal purple don’t really mesh well!
Base: Milani Vivid Violet – no longer avail.
Dots: Zoya Haven, Goldie, Payton
