For whatever reason, I never feel true rainbows, as in: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple – together. I am not sure why. I just do not like how the colors look together. I would rather do a gradient/ombre of colors. (You can see my other rainbow-inspired manicure for last September’s 31-day challenge here).
I used neons because they are just “splatterable”. It is also a technique I rarely attempt. Strange, right? It seems like something I would do more often.
Splatter-painting is hard! I did not get a true splatter unless I doused the toothbrush in acetone, but the color became more transparent because of it.
Do you have any tips for me?
I added a couple of pictures, in different lighting, because I L-O-V-E how this came out! Of course, you can never go wrong with neons, right?
I used 2 coats of butter London Cotton Buds as my base.
I splattered with pure acetone, a toothbrush, and Color Club Almost Famous, Wham! Pow!, Warhol, and Mrs. Robinson.
