31DC2016 -Metallic Watermarble | Nails

Once I get bitten by the watermarble bug I cannot help but do them over and over. For the sake of the 31-Day challenge I will consciously try not to do the same nail technique twice in a row but sometimes I just gotta give!

I cannot decide on this look. The marble came out well but the metallics are so different. The final look is absurd but cohesive.

I hope you like it!

I love a strong, simple black and white watermarble! It always looks classic without being overbearing. There is something to be said about these two strong opposite colors working so well together.

31DC2016 – Purple Polka Dots | Nails

I do purple dotticures more than any other nail art look. I think I did one just a few weeks ago! I don’t know why I gravitate towards them but, I try to use different colors so it is not the exact same every single time!

The purple prompt of the 31 Day Challenge coincided with the first day of my old high school. Posts from my classmates popped up all over Instagram and Facebook and I felt nostalgic. Our school colors were purple and gold and I was on the purple team!! Perfect, right??

I went heavy on the purple for obvious reasons but injected a little pop of gold. Together these colors look pretty good but I have memories of gold actually being bright yellow. And, that and royal purple don’t really mesh well!

31DC2016 – Blue Ombre | Nail Art

Wow…I completely did not update the blog with my looks from the 31 Day Challenge! I kept up every day over on Instagram but just never get the time to write up posts here.

I had a lot of trouble matching polishes for ombre looks. Ombre nail art is one color, with  different shades on each nail versus each nail showing a gradient of every shade. I always second guess what goes well together and I stare at combinations debating which look better.

I finally settled on these colors and think they work really nicely! Blue and green and my favorite colors to ombre style because I have the most polishes of each.

I wanted to tip my nails with a little glitter but regretted it when I went to take photos. The silver was so shiny it stole the show and I had to color correct the original base colors!

Regardless, I hope you like this look…I definitely do!

May contain some affliate links.

I occasionally lose interest when people just chat about their favorite products so I tried a double-time get ready with me video! I don’t generally single out products and consider them my most loved items but I will use the same makeup over and over again. Those count as favorites, right??

I hope you enjoy the video linked below. I’ve also linked all the products I mentioned as well. Apologies on the blurriness. I didn’t sit close enough to the camera and the focus was finicky!

31DC2016 – Green

What starts with g like green? Gradients! Gradients are such a go-to look for me I didn’t even think about what I was doing. In retrospect I should have done a waterfall to spice things up (I always do them with blue or purple which are the next two prompts) but I’ll probably do more of both over the next month. That’s okay since waterfalls and gradients always look different even when I use the same colors.

green2I have to admit I really like how this one came out. The colors matched each other and the decals. The greens also blended so well together! Can we also stop and marvel at this gorgeous neon green? Yes, it it that bright in person…but, unfortunately, the Cult Nails closed up shop years ago…”Deal With It” is my last polish from this company and I want to make it last!

31DC2016 – Day Three: Yellow

Items provided for honest review.

I decided on something simple for today’s yellow prompt. I worked in the morning and was completely spent by the time I go to home. I can tell you specifically which dog nearly dislocated my shoulder and from there I lost most of the strength in both arms.

Regardless, I looked forward to doing my nails so I stuck with easy, tried and true water decals! I received these specific ones from Nicole Nail Diary and thought they were perfect for today’s look. Funnily enough I do not use emojis in texts or online but I thought these were too cute to pass up. The decals detached from the backing nicely after 20 seconds in the water and they did not disintegrate with top coat application!

Unfortunately, neither my phone or my camera picked up on the neon yellow/orange base but I did my best..I hope you like it!
