This manicure serves THREE purposes!! I am absolutely thrilled I managed this. I am submitting it under the weekly theme buffet but it also serves as the second SIMPLES saran wrap manicure.
These nails also serve as a tribute to Casey Kasem, who passed away yesterday at the age of 82. If you have followed my blog for a while you will know I am a huge Scooby Doo fan. It was and will always remain my favorite cartoon. I own the entire original series on DVD and LOVE it.
Casey Kasem voiced Shaggy for over two decades. Not only that, he was a humanitarian who supported many different charities. The world has lost a truly remarkable person.
During the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go challenge in February, hosted by Missy at Gnarly Gnails, one of the prompts was animation (my design linked here). It was my first attempt at the cartoon nails technique and it came out less than to be desired. I wanted to re-visit it for this week’s Theme Buffet. While my nails are just as short as the last time, I think the addition of detailing makes the look less “stumpy”. I still need to practice getting even cartoon lines but I did not want to mess too much with it to the point I would have to re-do the entire nail!
I hope you like it!
I used 2 coats of Color Club Twiggie as my base.
I saran-wrapped with Milani Power Periwinkle and Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot.
I stamped with Konad Special Polish Black and MoYou London plate 06 (from the Mother Nature collection).
I detailed with Wet n Wild Black Creme and Julie G White Orchid.
I used Essie Matte About You on top.
Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.
Don’t forget to check out the other cartoon designs this week!
This is so lovely! It reminds me of a wrought iron fence or intricately designed gate!
