I am in a green mood. Okay, I am always in a green mood. Interestingly, it is not my favorite color but it is a chosen for nail art..is that odd? Maybe it is just one of my many quirks!

I am still not feeling one hundred percent yet. I am actually feeling worse so nimbus is a great nail art technique. What else is RA-friendly? Water decals! …and my Pueen Cosmetics ones have been long neglected..

I hope you like it!

Ticking Time Bomb | The Rite of AgingI started with 2 coats of Barry M Gelly Chai and 1 generous coat of Seche Vite as my base.

I nimbus-ed with acetone, Q-tips, China Glaze In the Limelight, American Apparel Neon Green, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy High Stakes, and Pahlish La Royale.

I used clock decals from Pueen Cosmetics.

EDIT: I did not initially make this nail art for any challenge but realized it fits one of the prompts for the #31DC2015! Check out the other 3 shades of green or yellow manicures below!

I love the rainbow prompts. I can use as many colors as I want! However, I never actually use traditional “rainbow” colors. I don’t think the colors work well together…at all! I know, I know, I’m super weird!!

Anyways, I hope you like today’s abstract, distressed look!

Blue/Green Distressed Nails | The Rite of AgingI started with 3 coats of American Apparel Parakeet as my base.

I used a paintbrush, acetone, Pahlish Le Bijou de Roi, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Hunger Flames, Girly Bits Supersonic, and Color Club Pucci-licious.

Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.

Check out the other rainbow manicures below!

I’m back! My furnace is fixed! Wheee! I am still flared up and in pain but now that my joints are not super cold I should be on the up and up.

I have not yet decided whether I want to try and catch up since I am a week behind or just hop in the present. I think the latter since I am so behind in all my nail art groups.

Short post today since my wrists and fingers are barely mobile so I hope you like today’s design!

Green Base stamping | The Rite of AgingI started with 3 coats of American Apparel Neon Green as my base.

I stamped with Milani Black Swift and Pueen Cosmetics plate PUEEN74.

I detailed with Pahlish La Royale.

Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.

31DC2015 – Day 8: Monochromatic

Check the sidebar for more information.

Monochrome was one of my favorite prompts because I love keeping things in the same color category. As you know, I tend to keeping adding to my designs until they are just too busy and look rather strange. When I keep the polishes in different shades of the same color it’s easier for me not to add too much, and even if I do, it doesn’t look as bad!

The furnace won’t be fixed until tomorrow so I am sticking with easy techniques like the waterfall. I hope you like it!

Purple Monochrome Waterfall | The Rite of AgingI started with 2 coats of Color Club Pucci-licious as my base.

I detailed with an artist’s brush, Barry M Plum, American Apparel Neon Violet and Sally Hansen Color Foil Purple Alloy.

I decided to go with something simple for the pink and aqua prompt. I own ONE aqua polish and I received it is a sample size that was part of a Sephora Favorites collection. I making gradients with Mermaid’s Dream. It looks really nice on nail tips.

I finally got my photo light to work!! Yay! Now I just have to lower my pain levels.

I hope you like my simple gradient!

Pink and Aqua gradient | The Rite of AgingI started with two coats of Color Club Poptastic and one coat of Deborah Lippmann Popular as my base.

I used a makeup sponge Deborah Lippmann Popular and Mermaid’s Dream for the gradient.

31DC2015 – Day 6: Half & Half

Check the sidebar for more information.

I had a couple of ideas for today’s prompts but ended up going with something simple. Unfortunately, the gradient did not end up completely half and half…but the sentiment is still there.

I am so sorry for the state of my nails/hands. I didn’t a) realize how dry my skin was (even with application of lotion before starting the nail art) and b) how awful my nail shape was. I realize now it has been weeks since I last worked on my cuticles or shaped my nails properly. I need to get on my A-game for this as I am now on Biotin and my nails are legit growing like mad.

I tried to change my hand position for the photos but you can still see the fanning at the tips.

I hope you like the gradient though!

Half & Half Gradient | The Rite of AgingI started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

I used a makeup sponge, Milani Spotlight White and Wet n Wild Black Creme for the gradient.
