I was so thrilled with this manicure until the top coat smeared the design on my pinky. Bummer. If the base had not taken so long to dry I would have re-done it!

Typical me, I went with abstract art! I could not bring myself to draw actual fruit so I went for a lemon-lime theme.

I finally caught up! I was worried because I fell behind four (yes, four!) days. I had off from work today so I sat down and got cracking. Hopefully I stay on track!

As seen in most of my other OMD2 manicures this is my first attempt at negative space. I personally do not like this design, I just do not like the look. People do an awesome job with it but I just think it looks a little strange.

This manicure did not come out the way I wanted. I went for a suspended in air look but I do not think I used enough top coat to achieve that effect. This is also the first time I tried a paintbrush gradient.

I hope you like it. What do you think? Do the bubbles look like they are floating??

DSCF0351_fotorI dotted with Milani Power Periwinkle before applying a generous coat of Seche Vite. Unfortunately it was not a generous enough coat!

After those layers dried I used a flat ended brush to paint a gradient of Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot and Anise Make Waves.

This is my first ever feathers manicure! I think it came out pretty cool looking even though they do not really look like feathers. The color scheme ended up pretty winter holiday-ish but I like it anyways!

My hands are so shaky, freehand detailing is non-existent. I am not the biggest fan of Chevrons so I went with a very misconstrued detail today: life-lines!

DSCF0326_fotorFrom pinky to ring finger: Revlon Gel Envy High Stakes, Deborah Lippmann Defying Gravity, Milani Mint Chip, Sephora by OPI It’s Totally Karma.

I stamped the decal with Konad Special Polish Black and Bundle Monster plate BM 303. I used a dotting tool, Milani Mint Chip, Formula X for Sephora Thrilling to fill in the empty spaces straight onto the stamper. I used Seche Vite to seal in the design.
