When I think of princesses I think of pink and glitter and tiaras. However, as you know, I am not a huge pink or glitter or tiaras girl! So…what do I do for today’s prompt?

I settled on a pink, purple, peach brushed gradient with one of my favorite glitter toppers. It is a princess look with a little flare mixed in! Hope you like it!

Ah, I finally shaped my index finger properly! I LOATHED putting up photos just because my index nail drove me insane. I am still working on the C-curve on the right corner but the nail definitely looks better than it did!

Apologies on my skin tone in the picture…I thought it was hard to photograph neons with a point and shoot camera, well it’s perfection next to a phone camera! However, the neons are completely color accurate!

Today’s OMD3 prompt is peace…can you find the hidden peace signs in my nail art? Heh, I wanted them to blend in and I have to say I love how this look turned out! I hope you do too!

Stamping: Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Bundle Monster plate BM320

Some products provided for review. Opinions are my own.

I just had to do galaxy nails for today’s prompt because it’s been a while since I last did them! And, I have to admit, I’ve never been as happy to be an Aquarius as I was today. It is probably one of the easiest signs to freehand! Of course, mine left quite a bit to be desired but the rest of the look came out awesome…in my opinion, heh!

Today was also the perfect time to try out these star studs I received from Born Pretty Store. If I was going to try 3D studs they had to be in my favorite star shapes. Luckily, they were available in the 2mm size which were small enough for my tiny little nail stubs! I wouldn’t name these particularly RA-friendly as I had to use tweezers to turn them right side up but after that they applied without further hassle. They fell off the nail more easily than the Fimo canes. The bottom is slightly hollowed out so if I apply these with normal top coat application there is less surface area to adhere to the nail. However, they did hold up to light normal finger movement. If I remember to remove them properly the pieces are definitely re-usable. Though, I imagine I will lose quite a few too as I knocked a few out of the tin without realizing it!

Detailing: Zoya Crystal, Sephora by OPI Go My Own Way, Sinful Colors Secret Admirer, Essie No Place Like Chrome

Studs: Born Pretty Store 2mm Shiny Star Shape Studs (300pc set for $6.07)

I don’t even want to talk about this one. I had this great idea and unfortunately execution of said idea was less than ideal. However, I am happy I tried it…and I think with a little practice I can definitely get the look I’m after!

Not a lot to say because I am so freaking tired from this week except I am now two days behind. ICK. Hopefully, I can catch up this weekend!

I’ve become a sugar-spun snob!! I am so bummed with how this came out but I never re-do my sugar-spins because it takes so long to begin with! I’ve come to the realization that fast-dry polishes do not spin well. Even with constant “stirring” the polish thickens clumpy and just doesn’t move well. Ah well…I can always fix it, right? Nope, while I usually don’t have trouble with white polishes, the white I mixed to get this pink became ashy and kind of dulled the base. Best thing to do is just make sure I don’t have to fix anything and use polishes that are better for this technique!

It’s not my best sugar-spin but I still hope you like my pink frosted doughnut nails!!

Neon Splatter and Gradient Nail Art

It is the return of the neons!…and the lightbox! Today’s nail art consists of some old neons and some from the China Glaze collection. I realize I need more powerful white, daylight bulbs. The ones I have cast too much of a yellow tint and it’s hard to capture a good picture :(. I will try to take a sunlight picture tomorrow if the weather perks up!

I hope you like it!

Neon Splatter and Gradient Nail Art | The Rite of AgingI used Essie No Place Like Chrome and Sinful Colors Snow Me White as my bases.

I splattered with Color Club Pucci-licious, China Glaze UV Meant to Be and Violet Vibes.

I created with the gradient with Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot and China Glaze UV Meant to Be.

Assorted Nail Art Techniques for Hemangiosarcoma Awareness

I debated whether to include this manicure in Saachi’s tribute post but then decided to keep it separate. The tribute itself is already very long and this way I can create multiple manicures. This also fufills the U is Unusual prompt for the A to Z  Series.

What is Hemangiosarcoma? It is blood vessel cancer that presents in dogs and cats. It is not rare but it is aggressive. It is arguably the most aggressive cancer found in animals. Typically, it first appears in the spleen or liver then metastasizes to the lungs, heart, and brain (anywhere, really, that circulates blood).

Doxorubicin has the most research and highest success rate out of all the chemotherapies. It does not stop the spread of the disease but slows it down. Unfortunately, that’s where the research ends. There are a couple of other chemo options but there is not a lot of successful research backing it. When we found out the Doxorubicin did not work, we stopped all chemotherapy. The cancer was so advanced, in our gut, we knew nothing would work. Maybe it would extend Saachi’s life for a couple of weeks…if that…and pumping her body full of toxins for an extra two weeks did not scream a great quality of life.

Cancer is basically an autoimmune. Cells constantly multiply and sometimes they mutate. These damaged cells suck resources from the healthy ones. They form from each dog’s genetics, they differ from dog to dog. Saachi’s cancer did not respond to Doxorubicin. We don’t know why. In animals, there is still no way to study the genetic markers and pinpoint which are resilient to which medications…

The manicure I created includes blood splatters, a subtle red dotticure, and stamped DNA strands. I hope you like it!

Hemangiosarcoma Awareness Nail Art | The Rite of Aging

Hemangiosarcoma Awareness Nail Art | The Rite of AgingI used Wet n Wild Black Creme and Color Club On the Rocks as my base.

I detailed with Sephora by OPI Mr. Right Now, Sinful Colors Secret Admirer and Barry M Chili.

I stamped with MoYou London plate 03 from the Scholar Collection.
