In honor of my love of naps!

For the base, I used 2 coats of Milani “Peacock”.

I used the water-color technique for the thumb, ring and pinky finger.

I started with a generous coat of Seche Vite to protect the base. I alternated Milani “Quick Teal”, Urban Outfitters “Blue Velvet”, Chanel Le Vernis “Pearl Drop”, and a little Zoya “Adina”. I went really heavy on the nail polish remover because I did not want any harsh lines.

I used a water decal (Christmas collection) from the Born Pretty Store on my middle finger.

I set all nails with Seche Vite before adding one layer of INM Northern Lights for a little sparkle!

Given how I have been feeling I am surprised I went with a bright green. I guess when I feel low I still opt for bright colors! That is a good sign.

I initially wanted to do the water-color technique on the middle and pinky finger but I ended up keeping them clean.

I am on the fence about the index finger. I like the color scheme but it does not really match the water marble. I love love love how the marble came out though.

Base: Sephora by OPI “It’s Totally Karma”

Marbling: Sephora by OPI “I Come in Peas” and Wet n Wild “Black Creme”

I started with a marble with both colors then I marbled again with “I Come in Peas”

Dotting: Milani “Peacock”, Cult Nails “Deal with It”, and Sephora by OPI “I Come in Peas”

Short and Sweet in Texas is holding a Halloween Nail Art contest and I decided to submit a picture!

I am so excited about this because I incorporated the marbling and sugar-spun techniques. Spiders terrify me so after I finished taking pictures I just ignored my thumb.

The bat was a water decal purchased from the Born Pretty Store. I am not sure if I applied it correctly because the sticker came off white.

I could not decide which nail art to re-create so…

I decided to cheat a little and re-create something from “Hobbit Fan of the Week” (from the movie facebook page) Katie Alves who did this awesome Hobbit-inspired eye look. I know for sure I could never do this on my eyes but I wanted to give it a go on my nails.

This manicure came out so much better than I anticipated. I am so glad this is the last prompt so I can keep it on for as long as possible!!

…And chances are I will be doing it again in December when the next movie comes out!

After I took the pictures, I sealed the designs with Seche Vite. I was nervous that the artwork would smudge, though, Seche Vite is awesome at preserving detailing.
