For today’s nail art, I was inspired by these ink blobs I saw on HonestlyWTF. They are super cool and it finally gave me the chance to try out Sarah’s smoke tutorial from Chalkboard Nails!

I did not realize that I used Indian flag colors until I was editing my photo and this could easily pass for tomorrow’s prompt as well!

First off, thank you so much to everyone who are requesting a tutorial on my sugar-spin looks! I will definitely attempt one at the end of the month! I am not sure how to do it except for tips though just because I am unfamiliar with video..but I will give it a try!…

I had so many different “love” stamps in the Pueen – Love Elements collection and pulled out nearly six plates to decide upon…then I saw the little leaves in this one and knew I had to do a “for the love of Earth” manicure…I hope you like it!

St. Patrick’s Day Dotticure Nail Art

I did a dotticure for Valentine’s Day so I made one for St. Patrick’s Day. I am still on my green kick so I classified the nail arts under this holiday!

Anyways, due to stress and fatigue I am beyond tired. I considered not painting my nails but I needed a pick-me-up and nail art perks me up. However, I am sort of flared up so I fell back on RA-friendly non-uniform dots.

The picture is different as the usual lights are on the fritz. I pulled out my dusty light box and tried it out again. I now know how to set my camera more properly so I’m hoping I can get the hang of it. What do you think? Good picture or not? I have a lot of trouble focusing the details in the light box but I think that is due to insufficient lighting. However, my skin always looks so smooth! I guess there is a trade-off!

I hope you like today’s nail art!

St. Patrick's Day Dotticure #nailart | The RIte of AgingI started with 2 coats of Sephora by OPI It’s Totally Karma as my base.

I “nimbus-ed” with Zoya Giovanna and Pahlish Sunless Sea. I sealed the design with Seche Vite to create a semi-3D effect.

I dotted with Cult Nails Deal with It and Color Club Twiggie.

Oh Mon Dieu Challenge – Day 2: Coral

What is coral exactly? Is it a pinky-orange, an orangey-pink, a blush tangerine or just a neon red-orange? Yet, regardless of the name it most certainly is not the color of coral!

I see a huge surge in matte nail art and I cannot help but jump on board! Matte all the things!

I hope you like it!

DSCF9972_fotorI used 3 coats of Sephora by OPI Cover Me in Petals as my base.

I used Cult Nails Captivated on all fingers except ring.

I detailed with Sally Hansen Blue My Mind, Color Club Almost Famous, Milani Colorful Coral, and OPI Pros & Bronze.

I sealed everything with Seche Vite before adding a generous coat of Essie Matte About You.

Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.

Don’t forget to check out the other Coral manicures today!

Crumpet’s Nail Tarts May TPC #4: Purple, Red, Green

Today marks the last May Tri-Polish Challenge. I have come to appreciate this set of colors. Before this month I had never put them together but I am very pleased with all my ideas for this challenge!

For this manicure I took inspiration from Vic at glowstars.net. I really love her nail designs. They are funky and so precise!!  I especially swooned over her splatter-foil manicure, linked here. Unfortunately, my Color Club polish was too thick for a proper splatter but I think it came out interestingly enough anyways!

ImageI used 3 coats of Cult Nails Deal with It as my base.

I sponge-gradiented Zoya Cheryl on the tips.

I detailed with Color Club Mrs. Robinson.

FingerFood’s Themed Weeks: Nature

For this week’s Theme Buffet (Facebook group linked here) I decided on a solar flare. I tried water-spotting for the first time. It did not come out exactly like the tutorials show but I think it really encompasses the flare-like feel. I really want to try this again with an ocean/water color scheme!

I hope you enjoy!

Image

ImageI used two coats of Color Club Almost Famous! and one coat of Sinful Colors Chick Chick as my base.

I water-spotted with Sephora by OPI Mr. Right Now, Zoya Cheryl, Cult Nails Captivated and Color Club Wham! Pow!.

I used two very generous coats of Seche Vite to even everything out before topping off with a coat of INM Northern Lights for a sparkling finish!

Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.

Check out the other manicures for this week’s theme!

Celebrate the Occasion Nail Art Challenge Day 2: Party On!

Jessica from Be Happy and Buy Polish is hosting another nail art challenge! I am really excited to take part in it because the prompts are really fun!

I decided to pass on the Mother’s Day prompt yesterday but I was all over today’s! What says “party” more than colorful confetti? Not sure but if you add that together with an animal you get a party animal!

Not totally sure why I decided on a rubber duck, it just spoke party animal to me! I am beyond thrilled with how this came out. It is colorful, happy and cute! I mean…there is noting cuter than a rubber ducky.

I hope you enjoy!!

ImageI used 2 coats of butter London Tea with the Queen and 1 coat of butter London Hen Party as my base.

The polishes I used for the dotticure:

  • American Apparel Neon Red, Neon Yellow and Parakeet
  • Color Club Poptastic
  • Cult Nails Deal with It
  • Milani Peacock

I stamped with Konad Special Polish in Antique Gold? and MoYou London plate 02 (Time Traveler Collection – Back to the 80’s). The design did not come out but I wanted there to be sparkle. I think next time I will just use my INM top coat because the gold barely shows up.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish in Black and MoYou London plate 04 (Princess Collection). I kind of went crazy with the duck images but I think it came out really cute!

Don’t forget to check out the other Party manicures!
