Item(s) provided for review. All opinions are my own.

After a relatively negative review of the fan brush (linked here) I am pleased to report a positive experience with the latest stamping plate. When I saw all the kitties on the Born Pretty Store website, I had to have them because nothing is better than cats.

plate BP-59_0001

This is a round stamping plate with 7 individual images and one full-nail one. The backing is the typical BPS logo and web address.

A new and welcome addition to these round plates is the protective sleeve (similar to the MoYou London covers; except, I do not know if the large rectangular ones from BPS come with their own). Funny story, the plate fell out of the sleeve during transit and the cover was bent upon arrival. Good news, the plate was untouched and in great condition.

I textbook-pressed the sleeve back into shape so I could use it. It was really quite cute!

Kitty Stamping Plate Nail Art | The Rite of Aging

1-DSCF4180_fotorHonestly, I do not have too much to say on this plate except that the images are so ridiculously cute. The quality of the images and stamping are consistent with past plates I’ve tried. BPS has really upped their stamping game!

This plate retails for $2.99 and if you’re interested in purchasing it or other nail products from the website, feel free to use my 10% off code below!

I have another Born Pretty Store stamping plate review for you! I have a few more for you in upcoming weeks!

The Born Pretty Store is a massive online distributor with a large variety of nail art goodies for every style. I love stamping so I jumped at the chance to review more plates. BPS re-launched their stamping plates a few months ago. Before the re-vamp, multiple reviewers mentioned issues with etching and transferring but since the new release I have not heard anything about these recurrent issues.

BPS plate 19

Product ID: 17264

The above photo links directly to the product’s site. I used the plate before I scanned the image and boy does that Mundo de Unas polish stain! Do I need to say why I chose this plate? I have a weird obsession with leaves! Well, nature in general, but definitely leaves! I did not even think twice. These beauties were made for me! Check out some nail art below.

Stamping Fall Leaves | The Rite of Aging

Thoughts:

I already talked about the images but let me reiterate how wonderful they are: the perfect leaves! (!!!Look at that fern!!!) The quality of stamping is good. I experience clear transfer to the stamper, no smearing on the nail and I use an assortment of non-stamping and stamping specific polishes. As you can see, I have some trouble with the copper. I think it is due to my inexperience with Mundo de Unas polishes (they are wonderful and so amazingly pigmented). I experience a lot of excess pooling on the stamper itself (but I have this problem with other plates as well). I have some difficulty with the stems, as well, because the image is so fine it dries quickly on the stamper and does not transfer to the nail.

I recommend this plate as I had good experiences with BPS’ new line. This plate retails for $2.99 on the website and if leaves are not your thing definitely check out the other stamping plates! If you read my first BPS review you know how I feel about shipping…but at the low price of their products, it is worth giving them a try!!

If you are interested in placing an order, feel free to use my 10% off coupon code below! Have you tried any of the new BPS plates? What do you think?

Born Pretty Store Review: Stamping Plate

Product provided for honest review.

I have a third (Born Pretty Store) product for review! As you all know, I have a certain fondness for stamping! I love the crisp images and patterns I can never freehand. Just like anyone, I order my stamping plates from my favorite companies but recently, I am trying new ones.

I hear mixed reviews about the Born Pretty Store stamping plates; everything from the good to the images are not etched properly making it nearly impossible to transfer the image to the stamper. BPS released all new stamping plates and I wanted to try one out!

Ugh! I am so sorry my photo is not the best. I could not photograph the images properly! Unfortunately, this plate is no longer available on the website and I could not find another that was similar. However, if you are interested in checking out the other plates take a look (here).

I really like the abstract images on this plate. I do not have designs like these on any other. That is my biggest pet peeve about stamping plates. The images sometime become repetitive. From what I can tell of the website, the stamping plates are different. They each have a theme and the images are similar but not enough I feel like I am paying for the same image five or six times.

Below are a few manicures I made with the images.

Thoughts:

I think this stamping plate is great. I had little to no trouble applying and scraping polish. The image transferred nicely to the stamper. Occasionally, when the images are not etched properly I experience smearing while transferring the images. Not with this plate! I used different polishes to stamp: Konad Specials, old Milani lacquers and Mundo de Unas stamping polishes. I had the same good experiences with each.

I recommend this product. I hear better things about the newly released plates so hopefully the quality stretches across the board and at $2.99 with free worldwide shipping it certainly does not hurt to try one out, right?

If stamping does not interest you BPS has a great selection of other (nail art) supplies so there is bound to be something for everyone. I also have reviews for the foils (linked here) and of the tiger water decals which includes my thoughts on shipping (linked here).

If you place an order feel free to apply my 10% discount at checkout!
