Can you tell I’m not a huge candy person? I am not even a huge sweets person but I do have a soft spot for chocolates and cheesecakes.

After seeing Rachel’s  (from Nails, the Final Frontier) chocolate drizzle nails I was reminded how much I love cheesecakes and decided on them for today’s prompt.

Sugar-spin all the things. This is what happens when I go on a three month break. I binge. Oops!

Why of course I had to do another sugar-spin for today’s prompt! I kind of stretched it to include sweets because I was at a loss for actual candy.

I created a funfetti cupcake base with chocolate frosting. I am not a huge cake or cupcake person but the above is the only type I will ever eat. It looks fun and the frosting is yummy!

Yay YouTube! I was inspired by another tutorial, this time by cutepolish!

I know chocolate-drizzled strawberry nails are not new but cutepolish’s video was my most recent inspiration! And how the heck could I say no to a sugar-spin, right???

I’m kind of in a funk right now so I think I will be finding inspiration from others for a while.

I hope you like it! I definitely love the sugar-spin! Hehe…do I ever not love sugar-spin?

Chocolate Drizzle #sugarspin Strawberry #nailart | The Rite of Aging

I started with Wet n Wild Red a Good Book.

I detailed the strawberries with yellow acrylic paint, light and dark green acrylics and sealed it with Seche Vite.

I mixed Milani Spotlight White and Barry M Lychee to create my “white chocolate drizzle”.

I wanted to do a green manicure given it are opposite red on the color wheel. Everyone did dark, vampy heartbreaks for the Anti-Valentine’s prompt and I wanted to explore the opposite direction. But, I didn’t want to sugarspin greens so I jumped on the bandwagon and stayed with the similar.

I wanted to stamp hearts on top of the blood splatter but I kind of really liked the splatter on it’s own! I hope you like it.

Sugarspun and Splatter Manicure | The Rite of AgingI started with 2 coats of Barry M Gelly Chai as my base.

I sugar spun with OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and Zoya Anais.

I splattered with Sephora by OPI Mr. Right Now.

These challenges just creep right on up and if I miss one prompt I cannot catch up! Since I missed the first couple of days, I decided to lump them together: my favorite technique plus my current favorite technique in my favorite colors. How many times can I use “favorite” in one sentence??

I hope you like it!!

For this week’s prompt, I had these images of rainbow neons floating through my head but realized the keyword was “multi-color” not “rainbow”. I felt like doing a predominantly pink manicure and a sugar-spin…and this is what I came up with. As I used neon pinks for the sugar-spin this look also works for this week’s NAIL prompt!

I hope you like it!

A2Z Series: M is for Multi-color | The Rite of Aging

I started with 1 coat of Zoya Charlotte as my base.

I water-marbled with Zoya Charlotte, Barry M Gellys Chili, Chai and American Apparel Neon Violet.

I sugar-spun with Color Club Warhol and Pucci-licious.

Sugar-Spun and Stamping Nail Art for NAIL (January 2015) – Marsala

Check the sidebar for more information.

When the magazines announced the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year I was a little bummed. I am more than a little certain I’ve seen this color before. It looked like “wine red” except a little more orange, which then became “burnt orange”, right? I don’t know. I am not feeling the hue of this “marsala”; it’s not a particularly attractive shade to me.

However, the main polish I used for this prompt is quite pretty and I wear it all the time! (Okay, dilemma: has anyone experienced an amazing amount of anxiety about running low on their old Milani polishes? I’m torn between using them and saving them for the end of the world).

Anyways….I hope you like my nail art!

Marsala-Inspired Sugar-Spun Manicure | The Rite of AgingI started with either Wet n Wild Black Creme or Milani Mauve Medley as my base.

I sugar-spun with Milani Mauve Medley and Foxy Lady.

I stamped with Black Creme and Bundle Monster plate BM 311.
