Instead of playing catch-up I decided to jump back in and continue from there.

I should really expand my ice cream horizons but I keep coming back to my mint chocolate chip ice cream!

I hope you like my mint-choco with whip manicure!

Bundle Monster's 5th Birthday Day 21: Ice CreamI used 3 coat of American Apparel Parakeet as my base.

I dotted with Milani Dark Coffee and sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish White and Bundle Monster plate BM 307.

Summer Time Nail Art Challenge: Sunsets

Wow, I slept. All. Day. I barely managed the manicure for today with no hope of catching up on the GOT or Bundle Monster challenges! Yikes! Hopefully, if I can’t catch up I can pick up them up again.

Anyways, I couldn’t think of anything other than a sponge gradient which I saw many other people did so I decided to up the ante and do a double sunset gradient with the sponge AND sugar-spin technique! Hehehe..

I like the opposing and opposite color gradients and I hope you do too!

My camera went nutsy with this, too much neon! (Which, of course, is never a bad thing!)

ImageI used 1 coat of Julie G White Orchid as my base.

I used a makeup sponge with (from cuticle to tip) Color Club Almost Famous, Wham! Pow!, Warhol, and Mrs. Robinson.

When I was happy with the results I sugar spun with the same polishes (minus Mrs. Robinson) in the opposite direction.

I love taking part in the Challenge Your Nail Art series (hosted by the lovely Jessica). The prompts are fun and it’s like a rigorous little burst of back-to-back manicures.

Today’s prompt is right up my alley. COLORS! I hope you like my picasso swirl!

ImageI used 1 coat of Julie G White Orchid as my base.

I picasso-swirled with a toothpick with (from cuticle to tip) American Apparel Neon Yellow, Neon Red and Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot.

Bundle Monster Turns 5! Nail Art Challenge Day 17: Kisses

I am so behind on life right now. I am dealing with an annoying flare so everything works at 3x a slower speed!! Hopefully, I will catch up tomorrow, but we’ll see how I feel.

For the 17th, I decided to use the big kiss stamp. I really like this stamp and think the picture transfers very well. Just as I started with the pink sugar-spin I thought of doing brown as well for hershey kisses! Ah well, inspiration for next time!

I hope you like it!

ImageI used 2 coats of Julie G White Orchid and 1 coat of Orly Sec n Dry as my base.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish Red and Bundle Monster plate BM 303.

I sugar-spun with a mix of China Glaze Caribbean Temptation and Zoya Reece.

I need to stop using this base color! It really does not do anything for my skin tone but I reach for it every time! I am finally getting the hang of this water marble thing and my designs actually look like true water-marbles! Now, if I could only re-create the same look for each nail…

ImageI used 2 coats of butter London Tea with the Queen as my base.

I marbled with Orly Bonder, China Glaze Fuchsia, and Pop Beauty Pacific Hoot.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week #LookDeeper #RAAW14

Chronic fatigue is one of the most unfortunate parts of Rheumatoid Disease. It is not only a symptom of the disease but a side-effect of the medications.

Fran Cherry's avatar30somethingwitharthritis

I was one of 1,954 people with Rheumatoid Arthritis who completed National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society’s survey on the impact of chronic fatigue for those living with RA. Although I mainly use the term ‘Rheumatoid Disease’ now rather than ‘Rheumatoid Arthritis’, in this context I’ll use RA. It’s no surprise that 83% of survey respondents ‘felt that the public is not at all aware of the impact that chronic fatigue has on people’s lives’. I think the general public get confused between RA and Osteoarthritis (OA) and find it hard to understand the full implications of living with an invisible illness. I think this is partly due to how the media covers rheumatoid arthritis and because fewer people have RA than OA. (According to Arthritis Research UK, 8.75 million people (in the UK) have sought treatment for osteoarthritis). In contrast, according to NRAS, around 690,000 people in the UK have RA…

FingerFood’s Themed Weeks: Cartoon Nails

This manicure serves THREE purposes!! I am absolutely thrilled I managed this. I am submitting it under the weekly theme buffet but it also serves as the second SIMPLES saran wrap manicure.

These nails also serve as a tribute to Casey Kasem, who passed away yesterday at the age of 82. If you have followed my blog for a while you will know I am a huge Scooby Doo fan. It was and will always remain my favorite cartoon. I own the entire original series on DVD and LOVE it.

Casey Kasem voiced Shaggy for over two decades. Not only that, he was a humanitarian who supported many different charities. The world has lost a truly remarkable person.

During the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go challenge in February, hosted by Missy at Gnarly Gnails, one of the prompts was animation (my design linked here). It was my first attempt at the cartoon nails technique and it came out less than to be desired. I wanted to re-visit it for this week’s Theme Buffet. While my nails are just as short as the last time, I think the addition of detailing makes the look less “stumpy”. I still need to practice getting even cartoon lines but I did not want to mess too much with it to the point I would have to re-do the entire nail!

I hope you like it!
