I have not done one of the weekly prompts in almost three weeks! Hopefully I can keep up a little better now. (Facebook group, linked here)

I have to say I cannot love a polish more than I love Urban Outfitters Westside. I wear it regularly and I love nail art-ing (is that word?) with it. I just adore this polish!

3 coats of Urban Outfitters Westside as my base.

I used Formula X for Sephora Blasted? (I cannot find the bottle so I’m making wild guess; is the black and orange glitter topper).

I detailed with Color Club Wham! Pow!, Warhol, and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. 

I used a generous coat of Essie Matte About You on top.

I love graffiti, it is the ultimate self-expression. There are no rules. it is art for art. It is a real shame when it is painted over.

I am kind of bummed the splatter was so subtle, but this is kind of the look I was going for. In retrospect I should have done more splatter after the “white paint cover-up” to show I would keep on painting no matter what.

 

Image2 coats of Milani Foxy Lady as my base.

I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for the bricks and 1 coat of Essie Matte about You.

I used a toothbrush, American Apparel Neon Yellow, Parakeet and Color Club Mrs. Robinson.

I used Julie G White Orchid for the paint drip.

I am finally caught up and I have to say this is my favorite prompt so far. I love snow manicures, they are just so sparkly!

My inspiration was snow on Evergreen trees. Enjoy!

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Giovanna as my base. I sponged a little Zoya Suvi for a multi-dimensional look.

I stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM 319 and Essie No Place Like Chrome. 

I sponged with Zoya Crystal and Essie On a Silver Platter.

The first thing that came to mind was Star Trek! I decided to go with a simple freehand design and pull out one of my favorite polishes from the cobwebs!

 

ImageI used 1 coat of Milani Black Swift as my base before adding a generous coat of butter London The Black Knight. I adore this polish. It is a galaxy in a bottle! I haven’t worn this nail color in months and I don’t know why! I thinned the formula with Zoya Renew. It is still thick but it self-levels with one coat. LOVE.

I used Sally Hansen Triple Shine Slick Black on my ring finger before free-handing the Star Trek logo with Essie No Place Like Chrome.

I decided to kill two birds with one stone this weekend.

Yesterday was my birthday and the February birthstone is amethyst! Amethyst so happens to be my favorite jewel tone anyways so why not create a manicure that serves two purposes??

I took inspiration from my favorite childhood pastime: breaking open GEODES! Seriously, I loved hammering away at those things…I was weird little kid.

I used 2 coats of Zoya Payton as my base.

I then sponged and “water-colored” with Essie No Place Like Chrome, Chanel Gondola, Zoya Payton and Yara.

 

Generally, the insides of geodes are very muted and not all that shiny so I finished with 1 coat Essie Matte about You. Enjoy!

NAIL Jan. Theme One: Health & Wellness

Given my life has been swallowed whole by thoughts of health and wellness, you would think I’d be all over this NAIL challenge…but somehow, I was totally at a loss.

Sure, there are the pills, needles, IVs and good diet…I could go on!  But I just could not think of any ideas. So, I tried a different approach  to inspiration:

Over the past year I’ve felt loads better. What is different? (apart from the meds)

Water.

Oral medications sit in the stomach and are rarely fully digested. I drink a lot more water just to flush out my tummy! Since I started this little trick, my stomach issues have decreased!! 🙂
