I hope you enjoy my manicure for this week’s prompt (FingerFood’s Theme Buffet linked here)!

I hope you enjoy! I apologize for the stamping on my pinky finger. I smudged the design when I ran the stamper over it. I tried to save it by adding more red marble.

ImageI used 2 coats of butter London Cotton Buds and 1 coat of Sinful Colors All About You as my base.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish in Black and MoYou London plate 09 (Princess Collection).

I marbled with Orly Bonder and Milani Foxy Lady.

FingerFood’s Themed Weeks: Something New

A week late but I am finally feeling better! The weather is nice so I am feeling less “spongy”. I am climbing more and trying to not push myself too much. I am less inflamed!

Unfortunately, this blasted hand tremor made plans to stick around longer so I am working on nail art that does not require the upmost precision.

Sam’s nail art theme last week was “Something New” (Facebook group linked here) so I took the opportunity to try a new technique: Distressed Nails!

ImageI used 3 coats of American Apparel Parakeet as my base.

I “distressed” with Zoya Giovanna, Color Club Pucci-licious and Wet n Wild Black Creme.

I also used 1 generous coat of Seche Vite to seal it in.

Pink Wednesday: Mean Girls Turns 10!

The movie “Mean Girls” and history behind the bestselling book it is based on will always hold a dear place in my heart so, of course, I had to join the Plastics and wear pink….if only on my nails.

I was super excited to see Helen from Nail Newbie hosting girls at the cool table and decided to join in on the fun!

You know how sugar-y Regina George gets when she wants something from someone? Well, what better way to acknowledge her signature moves than with a little sugar-spun? (Though, do I really need an excuse??)

I hope you enjoy!

ImageI used two coats Chanel Gondola as my base and two coats Essie No Place Like Chrome as my accent.

I spun with China Glaze Caribbean Temptation and Zoya Reece.

Spring Renewal Nail Art Challenge Day 2: Pastels

freehand, Milani, Nail Art, Rimmel London, Sephora by OPI, sugar-spun, Urban Outfitters

Here is my manicure for the second day of the Spring Renewal Nail Art Challenge hosted by Jessica at Be Happy and Buy Polish. (Facebook group linked here)

I wanted to go with true pastels but I decided to incorporate my love of neon coral to make the lighter shades pop.

ImageI used 3 coats of Sephora by OPI Cover Me in Petals as my base.

I sugar spun horizontally with Milani Peacock and Urban Outfitters Westside.

I sugar spun vertically with Rimmel London Reggae Splash which is no longer an un-tried!

I think the Rimmel London polish is more muted and orange than the Urban Outfitters but as a sugar-spun they look nearly identical. The Rimmel polish is also more sheer than the Urban Outfitters.

I do not have a lot of untrieds. Definitely no “high-end” ones because I run home and open every bottle of polish. I do want to take part in the challenge so I will participate as I can. I decided to kill two birds with one stone (hehe) and make this my NAIL submission as well.

I think I stretched the rules thin. I used an untried, but I used a lot of other ones as well. Initially I just wanted to “water-color” with the new polish but it barely showed up so I sugar-spun as well.

Untried: Rimmel London “Reggae Splash”

I used 2 coats butter London Tea with the Queen as my base.

I water-colored with Nails Inc. Sprinkles Sweets Way and Rimmel London Reggae Splash.

I stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and Bundle Monster plate BM 315. My stamping did not smudge!!!

I sugar-spun with the Rimmel London polish.

I am not going to lie about how EXCITED I am about this nail art. Detail work has become difficult for me over the last few months. Sure, this is not the most intricate but I still love it: cute and simple.

Though, I have to buy better detailing brushes. I used the smallest I own and it was still a bit big.

I hope you enjoy my Tri-Polish Challenge (Facebook group linked here) manicure this week!

ImageI used 3 coats of American Apparel Neon Yellow as my base. The formula is surprisingly easy to work with. It goes on smooth and does not dry so fast I cannot manipulate the layers. It does dry funky though, exactly how a highlighter would. I really love this nail polish. I mean, NEON YELLOW, need I say more?

I detailed with Urban Outfitters Blue Velvet and Color Club Poptastic. I actually found it easier when I thinned the polishes with nail polish remover. I had to go over the design a couple of times but it looks so much better than if I used the polish straight from its bottle.

China Glaze, freehand, Sephora by OPI, Sinful Colors, sugar-spun, Tri Polish Challenge

Wow, time really flies doesn’t it? I was dealing with pretty bad depression this week and found it difficult to stay motivated. I am glad I am on the blog again, I know how hard it can be to re-start something as more time passes.

What better way to perk myself up then some sugar-spun?! Since I wanted to try something new, I tried to gradient the sugar-spun. As in, mix the two colors together on the plate and tie-dye while I strung across.

It is H-A-R-D, hard. While possible it takes a lot of patience because the colors mix so quickly.

I did get a few spots with the strings but I manipulated the toothpick over thicker spots to create the look. As you can tell, the parts I tried to mix came out more orange than tie-dye.

It is a lot easier to achieve the tye-dye look if I spin one color over the other before it dries.

ImageI used 3 coats of Sephora by OPI Go My Own Way as my base.

I sugar-spun with Sinful Colors Chick Chick and China Glaze Fuchsia.
