Gnarly Gnails’ Neverending Pile Challenge – Vampy

Tags

Am I the only one who thinks “vampire” when I hear the word vampy? Is that the idea behind the word?

Anyways, I saved this polish for the Neverending Pile prompt because it would go with a nice dark red. I especially like how the red looks bloody (Vampire-esque, right??)

Of course, I had to take it one step farther and really stretch the rules by adding other polishes I have worn and loved before.

I hope you enjoy!

I used 2 coats of Zoya Yara as my base.

I sponged with Zoya Cheryl in the middle and my untried Sinful Colors Secret Admirer.

Today marks a new month in the Tri-Polish Challenge (Facebook group linked here)!

I am not going to lie. I was a little nervous about this color combination. I have never worn these colors together so in my head they did not mix….but, as I hunted through my stash, I found a set of colors that ended up working very well together!

I hope you like it!

I sponged Zoya Payton on the tips.

I dotted with American Apparel Neon Red.

I hope you enjoy my manicure for this week’s prompt (FingerFood’s Theme Buffet linked here)!

I hope you enjoy! I apologize for the stamping on my pinky finger. I smudged the design when I ran the stamper over it. I tried to save it by adding more red marble.

ImageI used 2 coats of butter London Cotton Buds and 1 coat of Sinful Colors All About You as my base.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish in Black and MoYou London plate 09 (Princess Collection).

I marbled with Orly Bonder and Milani Foxy Lady.

FingerFood’s Themed Weeks: Something New

A week late but I am finally feeling better! The weather is nice so I am feeling less “spongy”. I am climbing more and trying to not push myself too much. I am less inflamed!

Unfortunately, this blasted hand tremor made plans to stick around longer so I am working on nail art that does not require the upmost precision.

Sam’s nail art theme last week was “Something New” (Facebook group linked here) so I took the opportunity to try a new technique: Distressed Nails!

ImageI used 3 coats of American Apparel Parakeet as my base.

I “distressed” with Zoya GiovannaColor Club Pucci-licious and Wet n Wild Black Creme.

I also used 1 generous coat of Seche Vite to seal it in.

A Simple Oil-Combating Skin Trick.

When I was younger I had super oily skin (I broke out all the time and my forehead was a completely different color because of hyper pigmentation). Now I have oily-combination skin. I still get shiny throughout the day and I wake up oily.

Where there are open pores, there is oil. Where there is oil, there are breakouts. So, the best way to eliminate breakouts is treating the source!

I splash my face with cold water. Ice cold water. Two or three times after cleansing. The cold water closes my pores before toner and moisturizer. It minimizes oil production from the start. I do not have to worry about breaking out since there is less oil to fight.

I have noticed a huge difference. I do not reach for the oil blotting sheets as often or wake up with a shiny face. And the best indicator? Fewer breakouts!

Pink Wednesday: Mean Girls Turns 10!

The movie “Mean Girls” and history behind the bestselling book it is based on will always hold a dear place in my heart so, of course, I had to join the Plastics and wear pink….if only on my nails.

I was super excited to see Helen from Nail Newbie hosting girls at the cool table and decided to join in on the fun!

You know how sugar-y Regina George gets when she wants something from someone? Well, what better way to acknowledge her signature moves than with a little sugar-spun? (Though, do I really need an excuse??)

I hope you enjoy!

ImageI used two coats Chanel Gondola as my base and two coats Essie No Place Like Chrome as my accent.

I spun with China Glaze Caribbean Temptation and Zoya Reece.

I saw this video and had to post it in lieu of my Friday Flashback. I think I see every part of this every single day. If I don’t, someone is sick!
