I am not going to lie…I love how this came out. It is super cute and fun. I cannot stop looking at my hands! The stamping could be better but this afternoon I could not even fill out a simple UPS DHL slip without my fingers getting stuck and painful. My hands went past shaky right to pulsating so I expected the worst when I lift the stamper. It smeared the base but I was totally okay with that today! (The top coat masked the flaw! Yay!)

I hope you like my GOT manicure this week. Since my Nails Inc. glitter has blue and pink glitter I went with a gender symbol design. When I flipped through my stamping plates I knew it was perfect with the other colors!

DSCF0539_fotorI used 3 coats of Nails Inc. Sprinkles Sweets Way (thumb, index, pinky) and 2 coats of Milani Peacock (ring) and Zoya Reece (middle) as my bases. To bring the blue creme and pink shimmer together I added a generous coat of Sally Hansen Color Frenzy Candy Drops and 1 coat of INM Holographic Top Coat – Silver.

I stamped with butter London Cotton Buds and Bundle Monster plate BM 310. The butter London polish became so thick after a few uses I could no longer stand it as a base. I reserved the remainder for stamping and it worked really well!

I sealed everything with 2 coats of Seche Vite because the glitter ate the first coat!

GOT Challenge: Stripes

My first thought went to striping tape and I cried. Striping tape is a RA flare’s worst nightmare: shaky hands, small tweezers, straight lines. It all makes me want to crawl under a rock and stop painting my nails. Ok, that is a GROSS exaggeration but you get what I mean!

My second thought went to Winnie the Pooh and I gasped I had never attempted these characters. How is that possible? The Golden Oldies’ prompt this week is stripes so I immediately jumped to Tigger. I’ve seen some gorgeous Tigger manicures on Instagram and had the cartoon on my mind.

This was so much fun and it was only until after I finished I realized ALL the polishes I used were over a year old. I only meant for the base and stripes to fall under that category! While that is pretty cool, it probably means I do not buy enough nail polish!

Today’s manicure may have used old polishes but it featured a new technique: freehand decals! I grabbed a sandwich bag and set to work. Unfortunately, my decal smudged a little but I don’t mind. It kind of had a “artist’s sketch” vibe to it. This was definitely not a bad first attempt!

Now that I rambled on…

I hope you like it!

DSCF0504_fotorI used 2 coats of Color Club Wham! Pow! as my base.

I detailed with Wet n Wild Black Creme, Zoya Reece, and Urban Outfitters Westside.

It has been a while since I last took part in the Golden Oldies challenge but when I saw this past Thursday’s prompt, I had the perfect polish in mind!

Since I used a year old polish I decided to try a new technique: stamping decals. I am pretty happy with how this came out. I stamped the yellow roses and painted black and white right onto the stamper.

I hope you like it!

DSCF0321_fotorI used 2 coats of Color Club Almost Famous as my base.

I stamped the roses with MoYou London plate 09 (Pro Collection). I painted Wet n Wild Black Creme and butter London Cotton Buds straight onto the stamper and sealed it with Seche Vite.

Bundle Monster, Bundle Monster Turns 5 challenge, Color Club, dotticure, Essie, freehand, Golden Oldie Thursdays, Konad, Nail Art, stamping

I am so tired and my spine is aching. I hate when my spine acts up because the pain affects everything. My posts are going to be a little skewed for a while and probably will not adhere to the normal schedule. I am probably just going to post the monthly challenges and if possible the weekly challenges as well.

It took me three hours to gear up for this one manicure, I kept laying down and closing my eyes. Ugh!

I am no longer afraid of gradients! I am practicing them so I am thrilled this is was the prompt for this week. I hope you like it!

ImageI started with two coats of Color Club Pucci-licious as my base.

I used a makeup sponge to apply a gradient (from cuticle to tip): Color Club Pucci-licious, Essie Smokin’ Hot, and Color Club Mrs. Robinson.

I dotted with the same colors in the opposite direction.

Take a look at the rest of manicures this week!

Since I am not feeling all that great I decided to use this as the base for my Bundle Monster birthday challenge as well. Today’s prompt is Love. I have a stamp that says “Love” but I decided to use the puzzle-heart shape.

I love the colors I used for the gradients and I love puzzles!

Apologies on the glue on my fingers. I used it to protect my skin from the excess polish but apparently did not do a good job of removing it!

DSCF9887_fotorI stamped with Konad Special Polish White and Bundle Monster plate BM 321.

Weee!! Red! I love red but not all reds look good on me. My favorite and an oldie is Mr. Right Now!! Love this polish!! I may or may not have stock-piled it when there was a Sephora by OPI sale on HauteLook!

I apologize for the picture quality. I am still trying to get the hang of my new light settings.

I hope you like my manicure! I am a little bummed with how the accent nail came out. I guess there was not enough contrast and looked messy. On the bright side, it does remind me of chocolate covered strawberries!!

ImageI used 3 coats of Sephora by OPI Mr. Right Now and 1 generous coat of Sephora by OPI Be-Claus I Said So as my base.

I sugar-spun with Zoya Cheryl and add some glitter pieces from Be-Claus I Said So.

Hi, my name is Monica and I have RA.

Check out the other red GOT manicures!

GOT Polish Challenge: Lilac

What is lilac? Is it a pastel purple? A light purple? Is it the color of its flower namesake?

I honestly thought I would not do this week’s Golden Oldies Challenge (Facebook group linked here) because I thought I did not have any year-old purple polishes. I decided to take a look and realized I had two!

Poor Adina, I never find a use for her. She makes my skin tone look overly pink and on the nail she does not do anything for me. It is such a shame because she is gorgeous in the bottle!

Guess what I have not done in a while? Sugar-spinning! And Adina was the perfect base!

ImageI used 3 coats of Zoya Adina as my base. I can never figure out bald spots with this polish. The duo chrome finish is so strong some areas look good but in reality are sparse. I used 3 coats just in case.

I sugar-spun with Color Club Pucci-licious.

Color Club, freehand, Golden Oldie Thursdays, marbling, Nail Art, OPI, Urban Outfitters

This week’s Golden Oldies prompt is Neon (Facebook group linked here). As we all know, I L-O-V-E love my neons! So, naturally, I was all over this week’s manicure.

I love how the neons in my collection marble but I was not feeling a full nail effect so I taped off the sides. I especially like how my index finger came out!

ImageI used 2 coats of Urban Outfitters Westside as my base.

I marbled with OPI Red Lights Ahead…Where? and Color Club Mrs. Robinson.
