I’m back! My furnace is fixed! Wheee! I am still flared up and in pain but now that my joints are not super cold I should be on the up and up.
I have not yet decided whether I want to try and catch up since I am a week behind or just hop in the present. I think the latter since I am so behind in all my nail art groups.
Short post today since my wrists and fingers are barely mobile so I hope you like today’s design!
I started with 3 coats of American Apparel Neon Green as my base.
I stamped with Milani Black Swift and Pueen Cosmetics plate PUEEN74.
I detailed with Pahlish La Royale.

Monochrome was one of my favorite prompts because I love keeping things in the same color category. As you know, I tend to keeping adding to my designs until they are just too busy and look rather strange. When I keep the polishes in different shades of the same color it’s easier for me not to add too much, and even if I do, it doesn’t look as bad!
The furnace won’t be fixed until tomorrow so I am sticking with easy techniques like the waterfall. I hope you like it!
I started with 2 coats of Color Club Pucci-licious as my base.
I detailed with an artist’s brush, Barry M Plum, American Apparel Neon Violet and Sally Hansen Color Foil Purple Alloy.

Since I fell behind with the challenge a little over the last couple of days I combined two prompts. You have no idea how excited I was when I remembered I had an awesome red glitter topper!
I hope you like it!
I started with 2 coats of Wet n Wild Black Creme and a generous coat of Sephora by OPI Be-Claus I Said So as my base.
I stamped with Konad Special Polish White and Pueen Cosmetics plate PUEEN44.

I decided to go with something simple for the pink and aqua prompt. I own ONE aqua polish and I received it is a sample size that was part of a Sephora Favorites collection. I making gradients with Mermaid’s Dream. It looks really nice on nail tips.
I finally got my photo light to work!! Yay! Now I just have to lower my pain levels.
I hope you like my simple gradient!
I started with two coats of Color Club Poptastic and one coat of Deborah Lippmann Popular as my base.
I used a makeup sponge Deborah Lippmann Popular and Mermaid’s Dream for the gradient.

I am in the worst mood ever today. Our furnace and humidifier broke so the main and basement levels are frigidly cold and dry. This means cold joints which in turn equals angry joints. In just one day I am in massive amounts of pain and nearly immobile without great effort. It feels worse with my skin tight and dry stretched over top.
This morning my car battery died and I had to purchase a new one. On top of everything else, the light I use for blog photos is acting up so my photo quality sucks. Not to mention, my swollen fingers are more than a little noticeable in said photos.
I considered not posting these pictures or even taking part in the challenges for the next couple of days since I feel so rotten but because of the flare I cannot climb and I am just really annoyed and down and nail art always makes me feel better…
I was inspired today by one of The Nailasaurus’ designs. I actually put it in my December favorites post, linked (here). It was a coincidence I used purple polishes as I really wanted to use the Chanel polish since it makes me happy. Sammy’s manicure reminded me simple is sometimes better. This is perfect for me as I tend to add and add and add until the design becomes too busy.
Even though the photo quality is pretty bad and you can’t really see the colors properly I hope you like the design for today’s A-Z prompt. The picture is a little smaller as it is a little more forgiving. Please hang in there with me for a couple of days until I can get everything sorted (including my mood!)
I started with one coat of Chanel Taboo and three coats of Pahlish Mind Like a Diamond as my base.
I stamped with the same Chanel polish and Pueen Cosmetics plate PUEEN35 from the Love Elements collection.

Today I decided to take a break from the 31 day challenge and hard reboot my nails. This meant soak them in an oil concoction, shape my cuticles, moisturize, cut, file and shape them. I will double up on prompts some time by the weekend.
I still wanted to post today when I realized I had not yet done my December showcase! So, I picked a handful of manicures and got to work. Check out my Pinterest page (here) for my other favorites!
Roselynn created this manicure for the Challenge Your Nail Art December series. I love everything about this manicure. The lights pop against the white base and the shading makes the bulbs glow. It is a cute holiday manicure.
Let’s talk about how ridiculous this manicure is. Ali created sweaters for her nails; she actually made sweaters. She stamped sweater designs over flocking powder and embellished with rhinestones. This blows my mind because A) the flocking powder doesn’t look messy and B) the stamping is so crisp! I can’t even. Just wow.
Sammy’s short nail manicures are so accessible to me because I prefer to keep my own nails short. I have a soft spot for snowflakes, purple and simple festive designs. Sammy always reminds me simple can be even more gorgeous than busy designs.
Gemma always stamps perfectly. It is no surprise I was blown away by her gradient stamping. The colors are so icy and the base color finishes the whole look. I was super jealous of this manicure because I had tried my first gradient stamp and while the stamping came out crisp the color came out marbled and muddy!
I have been on a makeup slump the last few months. I did not try new makeup nor wear different looks. I was in a rut until I received an email from Sephora allowing VIBs early access to the new Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette. This email came at an opportune time when I realized the eyeshadows in the original palette leaned cooler purple and were unflattering on me in the paler winter months. Generally, at any time of the year, I opt for warmer more bronze-gold shades and this new semisweet palette offers them. The eyeshadows do not smell as chocolatey as the first ones do but otherwise the shadows blend well, there is not a lot of fallout, and there is a good mix of matte and glitter-y shadows.
